Returning Laura’s Books and a New Video Card

Laura needed to return her Bar Bri (Bar exam classes) book back to the school she bought them from by December 1st, so she could get her part of her money back. I offered to return it on Thursday instead of my mom returning them since it was so close to work. It would be stupid if I didn’t do it. So I drop it off and get a receipt, and when I get out of my parking spot and put the car in drive, another car backs up into me. Boo! Dave told me to honk, but it was too late. The other driver had pulled up into her parking spot, and I dunno what she was thinking because she backed right out of her spot into my car. It looks rather minor, a rubbing off of dust, so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Of course, we exchange information. People, when you back out of a parking spot, remember, there are cars on your other side. Geez.

Now for the other part of my title. So at work, some of the guys like to play Call of Duty 2 for the PC during dinner. I like pretty much any type of multiplayer game as long as it’s with people I know…. and if it’s cheap. So I get a copy of COD2 and jump in on the fray. About 3 minutes into the frag fest, my computer all of a sudden restarts. Yikes. It’s never a good thing when the computer restarts like that. I launch COD2 again and the graphics is all messed up. >_<; I restart and try again. No go. Brian comes over and tries it in safe mode. Still nope. I launch 3D Studio Max... and it's messed up, too! Oh no!! >_<;; At this point I try to install various drivers and what not in an effort to fix the problem when I finally go to Aaron for help. He tries working his voodoo magic, and still nothing. ;_; It's dead. Now I know IT told us to be careful back when people got into Battlefield 2 because that game overheated the video cards pretty badly. Several blew out and IT told everyone that they would have to pay to replace any more damaged cards. >.>; I stopped playing after that, I didn’t want to pay for a card. I’m wondering if BF2 affected my card, but there were no symptoms until I played COD2… on a higher setting… My bad. <.<; So the next morning (right after the bumpers kissing incident mentioned earlier in this post), I get to work and find out that my computer has a new video card! Woohoo! Not only that, I got a better card! ^-^ I went from a GeForce 6600 GT to a Geforce 7950 GT. Sweet! ^_^
