Airplane Fears…. From Television

So lately, I’ve been having this rather irrational fear of not wanting to be inside an airplane because something terrible will happen… Something like a biological weapon that follows some sort of “pattern” will be injected into a victim via a syringe which will cause him to melt/explode which in turn will kill everyone by melting their tissue and bones. The co-pilot will inevitably open the cockpit doors and infect himself and the captain. The captain, being smart, puts the plane on auto-pilot and it’ll land safely at Narita. The FBI agents, or whatever Japan’s equivalent is, will swarm the plane and decide that whatever that killed the passengers and crew is too dangerous, and thus will set the entire airplane on fire, never mind the fact that they could be releasing unknown pathogens into the surrounding environment.

So the first episode of Fringe has me more spooked than I originally thought. I keep on thinking about the co-pilot’s jaw melting off his face. Ugh. Gross. Sick. Bleeech.

The most serious thing I can probably get on that airplane is tuberculosis. TB still wouldn’t be pleasant if I caught it. Better to not think about it.

So I’m a rather paranoid person. >.>; I should probably not watch Fringe before I take trips…

Salsa…

What is there not to love about fresh homemade salsa? Nothing! It came out delicious. :9 I used heirloom tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, red onion, lemon, lime, and jalapeño. Muy delicioso!

Afterwards, as I was eating a white peach, I got a sudden urge to rub my right eye. Rub. Then, the BURNING PAIN!! I had a bit of jalapeño juice on my fingers and it transferred onto my eye lid and into my eye. I’ve never had my skin feel like it was burning, but I guess the skin around the eye is so delicate, it gets to the nerve quickly. I couldn’t even open my eye because when I tried, the pain worsened.

Of course, I went to the bathroom and washed my eye out. Cleaned my hands with soap and water first. After the pain subsided, I put lotion on my eye, and went back to life as usual.

So the lesson is, even if you think your hands are clean (I quickly washed a container out to put the salsa in), they’re not clean enough to rub your eyes with. The end.

Fishing in Video Games

Fishing in any video game should be BANNED. I’m currently trying to catch a stupid fish for the stupid cat that belongs a stupid lady in Legend of Zelda Wii. ARGH! I swear, I’m going to stab myself in the eyes. And here I thought fishing in Final Fantasy XI was terrible and boring. Proved wrong right there. The worst part is, I think I need to keep playing that mini game in order to progress through the story line. Grrr.

WaMu Goes Boom

Well, it finally happened. Washington Mutual went down. The Feds took it over last night, and then sold it to JPMorgan Chase. Whee. Now that I’m a Chase customer, what am I going to do now? I’m going to Disneyland!

I’m not going to Disneyland. I may go next year on my birthday because all birthday people get in for free in 2009. Too bad my birthday falls on a Wednesday.

I’m still waiting for more information from First Entertainment Credit Union. I haven’t gotten anything in the mail. Maybe the mail from FECU that was supposed to go to me had gone to the neighbors. I should go ask them today. Getting a little worried.

The Dark Knight

Finally saw the Dark Knight in IMAX tonight. Dennis wanted to see the 9 PM showing before it was swapped out for Eagle Eye. I think Jon said that this was his 4th time in the theater, and Allen’s 3rd? And here I am happy with one viewing.

It was a good movie. I can see why people would want to see it multiple times. However, I’ll be happy with a Blu-ray or DVD version.

An Uneventful Weekend

Slept for most of the day on Saturday. I really didn’t mean to do that, but I did. I got sleepy at around 2 PM, and when I woke up it was well past 5 PM. Ate dinner with Laura, Steven, and Franklin. They wanted to eat at Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ. For dessert, we stopped by Yogurt Island where you can make your own frozen yogurt in a cup. You pay by the ounce. Very sneaky. Good for over eaters. Finally, we watched a movie that Franklin bought called Top Secret. Dumb, but entertaining movie.

Today, I drove down to Irvine to practice with the band, but it turned out that they didn’t practice much. It was mostly an info session for the student convocation. I also forgot my wallet and had only 2 bucks on me. I was going to use it to buy boba tea, but then I realized that buying gas to get home was more important. >.<;

The Price Collection at LACMA

Went with my mom to see the Japanese art from the Price collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art today. Originally, we were going to go early in the morning to beat out any crowd that would be there, but we both overslept. It didn’t matter because there wasn’t the stuffy and close contact crowd we were expecting.

While we were headed there, my mom was confused because she thought it was at the Japanese-American Museum, and not LACMA. I started worrying that she might be right because I was paying more attention to the grapes I was eating than the Japanese TV show that was airing the segment about the Price collection. My sister confirmed over the phone that it was indeed at LACMA. Point for me!

When we got there, a tour group had just started and we decided to join them. I think that made the experience so much better. She explained a lot of stuff about Jakuchu, Rosetsu, and other artists in the exhibit.

We were at the museum for about 3 hours.

For dinner, we went to Mitsuwa in hopes of getting more food from the Hokkaido Fair. Unfortunately, all the good stuff was gone (shishamoooooo… *sob*). We ended up getting some very expensive dried scallops, not so expensive dried salmon, and some dried clams.

Body Tiyurd

I didn’t consume enough calories before I went to the gym because when I got there, I realized how low in energy I was. :( I did my best. 25 minutes on the bike, weights (abs, legs x 5), and then 15 minutes of cycling again. Not bad, I think.

Afterwards, I knew I had to get some food into me, so I hopped on over to Whole Foods to buy some yogurt, a slice of pizza, and chrysanthemum tea. I really wanted to shop more in the store, but I really didn’t need anything else, so I left.

I also wanted to get a cake decorating set to use when I’m making meringue cookies. So to Bed, Bath & Beyond I went. Then it happened. The call from work. Except it really wasn’t a call telling me to come in. In fact, I don’t know who called me and I don’t know why. >.> How strange…

Grrr Caterpillars

There are caterpillars eating one of my tomato plants. They’re kinda cute, so I don’t want to kill them. (Yeah, I’m strange.) One of them even munched on a tomato. >:( Grr!!

While I was out there going grr, I thought… I’ll take revenge by killing crawlers in FFXI… >.>;;
