Diabolos, COME AND GET ME! WAIT, I’m not ready yet!!

Thanks to one of my friends in FFXI, I managed to finish the mission right before the Diabolos fight. I really like the CoP story line and I really want to see it finished, especially before the new expansion pack comes out at the end of the new year.

Speaking of which, I’m hoping my US PS2 drive doesn’t fail on me before the game is out. It’s having a hard time reading DVDs sometimes. I think it doesn’t read burned DVDs at all, which isn’t too much of a problem since I still have my JP PS2.

Ronfaure and Gustaberg belongs to Windurst

It all started last week when Roukii decided that it was time for a double takeover of the newbie regions. I wasn’t sure if it was possible, but I wanted to give it a try. Imagine all the fun it’d be. All the gil spent on cheapo equipment and synth ingredients, only to be traded to the guy at the outpost. I think Roukii had the most fun trading arrowheads and random stuff he could get his hands on. He even ran around Windurst with a jug of fish broth I synthed to see how much the NPC value of it was… I realized that I could make high-quality bug and carrot broths, and those have good NPC values. So I bought cheapo gear and synthed as many bug broths as possible over the week, and muled most of them to Nattotemaki. I deleted Sorennyonyo from Shiva to get the content ID back for Nattotemaki. I was rather fond of the name Sorennyonyo, too. :\ Oh well. So Saturday rolls around and I’m like, I’m completely out of inventory space! I wanna start trading! We had to make sure that our region influence didn’t go past minimal until the last 5 hours and everyone was itching to get started. Finally, the clock hits 2 am and everyone begins their mad dash to synth and trade. A few people traded and then passed out. I miraculously stayed up all night synthing in front of the Ronfaure region vendor (oh, the ironies!). Saotome, Jariten, and I were making carrot broths and Reiglo was our runner. At 1 hour before tally, Windurst gains major in Ronfaure and then another mad dash begins, but this time to Gustaberg. I give Jones a teleport to Dem, and then when I tele myself to Altep I get the dreaded blank screen of death. No matter what I did I couldn’t log back into Susperia. I eventually logged into my Bastok mule to kill her off a few times before I got the blank screen of death again. I finally log into Nattotemaki and hand over the rest of my goods to Rauzhon to trade to the Gustaberg outpost. I stood next to Rottata, hoping and hoping Windurst gains all three areas. Tense moments indeed. Finally, the tally was in and we won! We did it! Quite possibly the first server to gain control over all three starter nations at once. Go WindurstEnseiguntai on Lakshmi!

One More Level Till 75!

While I was running around trying to send items to my mule, I got a tell from one of my friends, Jakal, if I wanted to get some experience points. I usually don’t turn down party invites except for really good reasons (like food or real life friends) so I agree to join him.

Once in Caedarva Mire, I notice that the refresher is a BRD/NIN… This slightly worries me because that means I’m going to be the only one casting Silena and no one to back up heal when things go wrong. The tank of the party was Jakal as a WAR/NIN. There was even a beastmaster, too, but I don’t know if it was a beast sub or a main. Anyway, the party turned out to be really, really good. I mean, REALLY good. Wow. The other members of the party had /NIN subs, but I really didn’t need to unsilence them because the mobs went down so fast there really wasn’t enough time to.

Near the end of the party, I dinged level 74. Currently, I’m 1,041 experience points into it and hopefully a few Besieged battles will help prevent any deleveling that may occur.

Sky Access

So Sunday night I got {sky} access. Yeay! Thanks to Fynlar and his group of friends now I can cower in a new location with pretty gardens, enchanting music, and magic aggro happy mobs. *sob* The fights were pretty fun. And the story line is pretty good. I hope I’ll be able to work more on the story soon.

Once I got into sky, Fyn took me to get the quest for Divine Might (I think) and then we went to go kill some magic pot NMs for a Winterstone drop. Now Fyn gets to kill Genbu for a 3rd time, but this time I might be able to watch. ^^.v

Club Skills, a Warlock’s Tabard, a Warlock’s Tights, and BCNM 40

So my adventures in Vana’diel for the weekend (Saturday night) started with trying to join Ballista in Meriphatad Mountains. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that if I quit Ballista, then I can’t rejoin until the next game day. I had joined on San d’Oria’s team and I didn’t want that so I quit in hopes of getting on Windurst’s team. :( So I’m a Ballista newbie. :( Afterwards, Redwolfe helped me get the coffer key for my Warlock’s Tabard in Castle Oztroja. The key dropped pretty quickly, like on the 2nd monster. It look a while before the coffer popped however. I was gonna go to sleep, but then it was… time for Besieged. I can’t turn it down, especially if I don’t have work the next day.

Sunday morning, things started off by logging into Besieged in Al Zahbi, yeay! Unfortunately, I logged on too late and I didn’t get that much experience points from it. :( Afterwards, Tatewaki, Saotome, Jariten and I went to the Boyahda Tree to skill up. I got a few skill ups, but my club skills are still incredibly gimp.

After the skill up party, I went AFK and when I came back, Fynlar helped me get the coffer key in Garlaige Citadel for my Warlock’s Tights. The key dropped on the 2nd mob again, but it took a while to find the coffer. I aggroed two beetles only because I’m way too used to walking around that place as a white mage, not a weaker red mage.

It’s kinda funny, I remember coffer hunting to be much more painful. It took forever for the key to drop for in Beadeaux for my WHM AF hands, and again when I was running around for my WHM AF pants. I had to die once for my WHM AF hat, too.

Anyways, after I got my tights, I went on a BCNM 40 in Waughroom Shrine, Royal Jelly. I went in as a white mage with two other damage dealers. I got a Utsusemi: Ni which I sold and got 600k for it. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it’d be. I mean, the fight. It was pretty fun. I even got best record once, until it was wiped by Eron. >_<; Oh well. Was a fun FFXI weekend. ^_^

Helping A Random Person in Delkfutt’s Tower

Redwolfe said that I probably couldn’t beat Porphyrion as a level 52 red mage. I’m like, no way! I’m gonna kill it! I found a random taru, Natedawg (I think) at the entrance who needed the map to the tower and the keys to the place. I’m like I can help, but there is a slight chance of death. So it took about 1 hour to get up there and Porphyrion is bigger than the rest of the gigas monsters… Luckily, someone attacked and distracted the rest of the gigas so I attacked Porphyrion head on! Nate 2-houred Mighty Strikes and the NM went down pretty quickly. Even if I was soloing the monster, I’m pretty sure I could have taken him down just as easily. My MP didn’t even hit halfway when Porphyrion was defeated and he missed his attacks a lot, too. I would have thought Mighty Strikes would have gained the hate, but I pretty much had hate the entire way through. Kick ass!

San d’Oria Sucks

I just stayed up the entire night trying to defend the Sarutabaruta region from a San d’Orian takeover and we failed. >_< I spent well over 200k gil in the game all for nothing. It was so close, too. Argh! I power leveled Moopie and Schultz in Giddeus for a while. Cooked up a bunch of Fish Broth and some Fish Oil Broth when luck kicked in. I bought a bunch of equipment from the AH to trade. Argh. So sad. I think Redwolfe was upset the most, but I think at least we showed the San d'Orians what we were made of and we aren't so easily conquered.
