Chevy Rev-It-Up Racing

Went to Rev-It-Up on July 22, 2006. It was fun, until it got way too hot and I started feeling ill. The temperature was 108° F at the El Toro Marine Base. On the first competition run, I was not used to having to slouch so low. I had to to keep the top of my helmet from touching the ceiling of the car. I hit several cones because of it. On my second run, I got a better time of 38.199. Better than Dave or Kandarp, but slightly worse than Jack’s.

Yesterday, I cleaned my room. It’s looking much better, but I don’t know what to do about my winter clothes. Maybe I should go buy more clothing hangers and stuff the unused clothing on the left side of my closet. Huh. Too much crap.

I dinged level 46 as red mage in Final Fantasy XI, woot! I managed to party with Roukii this weekend, too.

The Person You Need Is Nanny McPhee

I saw Nanny McPhee last night with my sister. It’s a great movie, very well done. The next movie I have waiting for me is Lemony Snicket.

It’s Shinta~ Going poop and pee on everything. He really is a poop machine.

Shinta, the rabbit

I played tennis this weekend with Dave. We were mostly hitting back and forth when the couple next to us asked if we would like to play a doubles game. I’m like, sure. They were pretty good, the girl in particular. We lost both sets. I should probably work on my serve some more, they’re very very weak. It’s like ‘doink’ when I hit it.

One Piece Uno!

Another weekend comes to an end. Another busy weekend.

I went shopping for Satsuki, Chris, and Stephanie’s birthday presents on Saturday. Took me a while to find everything, too. Chris’s guitar books were no where to be found so I called Dave to read me off the rest of what Chris had on his Amazon wish list. It took me a while to find Nintendogs for Stephanie, too. It would have been faster if I just went to Best Buy first instead of going to all the mom and pop places nearby. Ended up going to BB after work. Satsuki’s was the easiest. Champion socks from Costco. I like those socks.

In the late afternoon, I went to work for about 4 hours, from 4 pm to 8 pm. Once I was finished causing destruction and mayhem (I finished a prop), I went to Best Buy to buy Steph’s game.

Then it was movie time! Dave and I watched Just Friends while munching on pizza. Mmm, yeay for a nice finish to a Saturday.

Now for today… boring stuff first, bought wrapping and cards for Chris, Sat, and Steph’s gifts. Fun stuff now. Went to the birthday party, ate barbicue foods, ate all the shishito peppers (the yum) while watching Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children in English dub. That movie’s dialogue is so cheesy. We played a round of Cranium and Dave finally was on a team that won. In a deja vu like manner, we played One Piece Uno (hence in the title) right after Cranium. Satsuki lost big time in that game. When I left, they were watching Howl’s Movie Castle. I totally love that movie.

And then I went to work. Again. For about 4 hours. From roughly 7 pm to a little past 11 pm. I was feeling sick at around 11 pm.

That wraps up my weekend nicely.

Oh. Final Fantasy XI stuff. Jakal wants to go on the last run to get Windurst Rank 10. That would be nice, it would be a break from the pain of having to raise of my gimpy skills. We’ll see…

Depressed feeling…

Something happened at work that makes me feel rather depressed and unhappy. It’s like, they would rather have me tell a lie and make me feel like crap than let me the truth, which somehow lead me feel like crap. In the end, both makes me feel like crap, but the former makes me feel like a thief and a cheat and the latter doesn’t.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand…

If you haven’t seen X-Men 3 yet, I suggest not reading the rest of the blog entry…

One thing I don’t get is, how is the big battle at the end supposed to be the “last stand”? Yeay, big battle between the Mutants that want their freedom versus people who want to cure the mutant gene along with people who like being mutants, but want to coexist peacefully with non-mutants. So, where are the sentinels? Oh wait, that was the simulation at the beginning of the movie. Lame. The character, Angel, didn’t get much screen time either, but the billboards all over LA County would suggest otherwise. Dave didn’t like the fact that the movie killed off 3 of the main characters for instant dramatic effect, which after a thought, is a bit cheesy. I would have hoped for a better death for at least Scott Summers. He died at the hands of Jean Grey, overcome with happiness after a long bout with grief. I would wonder why Jean Grey or rather Dark Phoenix would kill him so easily? Is Phoenix that bitter about Jean or the world to kill Scott? Professor Xavier’s death was kinda sad, too, in a cheesy and easy kill kind of way. I really didn’t feel too emotional about his death, because really, in these kinds of films, main character dies, main character is miraculously brought back to life. Not to mention the smile he had when he was vaporized. It was an aww, s/he died, when the 3 characters died. Overall, I liked this movie, but I think this particular movie would have done much much better as a mini-series on television. I would have liked have seen more of Mystique, as what happens to her after her humanification instead of a small snippet of her selling out her former boss. I think one of the best moments in the movie came at the very very beginning, when the young Angel was trying to saw off his wings. It was very sad to see a young boy with tears running down his face full of pain.

Now I’m sleepy. Time to hop off to bed.

At Least I’m Not 30 Yet!

Today is the start of the last year in my 20’s. Next year I’m going to be 30 years old. It’s very weird being 29. You’d think at my age I would have gotten married by now. Laura’s getting married when she’s 28, this year in fact. I don’t have any particular urge to get married, mostly because I’m not ready to give up a career for on, and another is I’m not good wife material. There’s still a lot of polishing to go before I’m there, and to tell you the truth, I feel like I do need to polish myself. Not because I want to get married, but because I just want to be a better person. I have too many things, too much junk. Maybe then I’ll be ready to get married or have the urge to get married. Of course, I think it’s just as important for the man to polish himself, too. Some guys don’t seem to really understand that either.

So, I’ve been listening to a lot of talk radio, particularly Air America. It’s very interesting, the topics they bring up, but they’re also very much like conservative talk radio hosts, at least the evening hosts are. They tend to hang up or mute any caller with different opinions. Of course, most of the conservative callers who do phone in aren’t very articulate. Talk radio is very stupid like that, there’s no open discussion of ideas or everything is very one sided. But my liberal bias says that liberal talk radio is less deceitful than conservative talk radio, and I’ve listened to both.

I bought a my birthday cake. I had to buy frosting to write on it. Heehee. I’ll post a picture when I’m done with it.
